Free Kids Summer Camp: Fun and Creative Outdoor Activities (GLOW)
Looking for a fun, active, and engaging summer experience for your child? The Giving Leaders Opportunities for Wonder (GLOW) Summer Camp offers free outdoor activities for children ages 6–12 in the Jane-Finch community.
Camp Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Newcomer Youth Soccer Program
Newcomer Youth Soccer Program
The Newcomer Soccer Program is designed for newcomer youth to connect with other youth in the community, stay active, learn new skills and make new friends. Players of all skills are welcome. Participants will enjoy fun practices, friendly games and a supported environment where everyone can feel included.
The program will be split into two groups:
8-14 years old
15-21 years old

Reimagining Heat Vulnerability Workshop
Sprout, in collaboration with Toronto Climate Observatory is hosting a community workshop to co-design how heat information and alerts are shared in our city.
Heat waves are one of Toronto’s most serious weather risks, but the systems meant to keep communities informed don’t always reach everyone. This workshop is designed to center community voices and experiences in shaping how heat information is shared.

Flood Risk Mapping Project
Invitation to Participate: Flood Risk Mapping Project
We’re supporting a Flood Risk Mapping Project led by York University researcher Adeyemi Olusola, focused on how flooding impacts communities along the Black Creek River—especially in Jane-Finch, Glenfield–Jane Heights, York University Heights, and Rustic.
This research looks at how flooding disproportionately affects racialized and marginalized communities, and how we can better prepare and respond.

Are you a worker or resident in the Jane-Finch, Rexdale, or Northwest Toronto area? Join us for a free, introductory 8-week in-person course exploring workers' rights, workplace justice and collective action.

Black Creek Fair Economies Project
The Black Creek Fair Economies Project at the Jane/Finch Centre is exploring pathways for local residents to enter the skilled trades through free training, trade schools, and apprenticeship opportunities. In partnership with employment agencies, the project will offer online and in-person information sessions to connect participants with available programs.

The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is running two new programs in partnership with the EarlyON Centre at the Jane Finch Mall this September for families with young children (ages 0–2 and 2–4).
Beginning Tuesday, September 23, we invite parents and caregivers to join us for a free, welcoming program where they can:
Learn and share rhymes, songs, and stories with their children
Support their child’s growth while strengthening family bonds
Connect with other parents in a warm and supportive community
This program is culturally responsive, accessible to all families, and designed to provide a sense of connection and belonging—especially for those who may feel isolated.

4th Annual 3V3 Basketball Tournament
Hosted annually by The Spot Youth Centre, the Jane/Finch Live 25’ Basketball Tournament is back! Supported by the MLSE Foundation and Dairy Farmers of Ontario, this tournament brings together youth from across the neighbourhood for a full day of friendly competition, featuring both men’s and women’s divisions.
This tournament invites youth to form teams with at least three members to compete for prizes.

Free Mental Health Supports for Black Youth
As part of Ontario Health’s Paediatric Recovery Initiative, the Jane/Finch Centre is offering free mental health supports tailored to Black youth. These services are designed to provide safe, culturally responsive spaces for counselling, access to resources, and overall well-being. Youth can be referred through hospitals, schools, or directly from the community.

Mintikah offers compassionate support, helping young people navigate challenges while fostering trust, resilience, and empowerment. She provides counselling, guidance, and system navigation to strengthen mental health and overall well-being.
Alongside her counselling role, Mintikah is co-leading programs under the name You(Th)rive, in collaboration with The Spot team and the Community Wellbeing team.
About You(Th)rive:
You(Th)rive engages Black youth ages 10–25 through three age-based circles:
Ages 10–13: Foundation & Fun
Ages 14–18: Self-Expression, Authenticity & Identity
Ages 19–25: Self-Discovery, Independence & Life Transitions
