Settlement Services

Our settlement services at the Jane/Finch Centre supports the successful integration of new immigrant youth and families through cultural, educational, economic, social and political engagement. These services are developed using a client-centred approach and offer ongoing support to assist with transitional challenges. 

We offer the following:

  • Orientation and information workshops

  • Needs assessments and referrals

  • Social and recreational activities

  • One-on-one solutions-focused settlement counselling

  • Translation and interpretation

We also provide support with PR card renewal, work permits, study permits, citizenship, passports, OESP, housing, Ontario Works, ODSP and more.

IRCC-Funded Settlement Program

Our IRCC-funded settlement services help newcomers—including permanent residents, protected persons, and select temporary residents—settle successfully in Toronto. Through a holistic and client-centered approach, we offer tailored supports that promote social inclusion, access to services, and community connection.

Services include:

  • Personalized needs and asset assessments

  • Settlement plans and referrals

  • Information and orientation sessions

  • Employment counselling and job readiness support

  • Informal language learning and conversation circles

  • Social, cultural, and recreational activities for newcomer youth and families

We provide services in over a dozen languages and support clients with their unique settlement goals, including education, employment, housing, immigration paperwork, and more.

NSLT-Funded Newcomer Services (Ontario)

Our provincially funded newcomer services support immigrants, naturalized citizens, refugee claimants, international students, and temporary foreign workers living in Ontario. We focus on helping clients navigate everyday life, access services, and build a strong foundation in their new communities.

Our services include:

  • Individualized settlement planning and follow-up

  • Help accessing housing, health care, childcare, and income supports

  • Referrals to employment, education, and language training services

  • Interpretation, translation, and form-filling support

  • Case management for clients with complex needs

These services are available in multiple languages and are designed to connect clients to local resources and mainstream systems in a way that feels approachable, informed, and empowering.

The settlement team speaks 13 different languages including: English, Spanish, Creole, Edo, Esan, Karen, Pidgin, Punjabi, Somali, Tamil, Twi and Urdu.
