2008 PRESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT
What a year. With a strong focus on community engagement, several priority areas were identified in 2008 and local strategies and partnerships established.
With close to 400 residents being surveyed to established local priorities, our efforts have been revitalized towards issues of poverty, community safety and resident participation. While we continue to focus our efforts locally, we have been able to increase our involvement in broader sector social justice initiatives that get to the root of our community’s priorities.
With a focus on future generations, the Centre has initiated a campaign to engage the community in conversations about Green Homes, Green Organizations and Green Communities. Through new Green Change partnerships you can look forward to a joint strategy for greening the Jane-Finch community and ensuring residents and youth are better able to engage in the emerging green economy.
Much progress was made in 2008, both locally and beyond. This would not have been possible without the incredible dedication and support of our donors, volunteers, partners, staff and local residents. Thank you all!
