The Community Office is attuned to the needs of the community. We work closely with the community as partners in their own development. In this role we provide administrative and financial management services to tenant councils and community groups. We can in some cases negotiate trusteeship arrangements for smaller grassroots organizations or community groups to help them address an identified need in the community.
The Community Office is the central link to the different sites operated by the Jane/Finch Centre. We are committed to promoting a healthy organization, incorporating technology, efficient administrative systems and cross-training to ensure staff are able to work in an environment where they feel safe, supported and connected.
The Green Change project is a one year initiative that will sensitize Jane Finch residents, our staff and other members from other partnering agencies in building capacity in reducing waste, conserving energy and making other simple life changes that can save money.
We are using a community capacity building, social justice and anti-oppression approach to engage residents and to engage community members in this process.

Volunteers are the foundation of the work we do in the community. We have developed a comprehensive volunteer management system to ensure we are able to provide quality volunteer and internship opportunities for students and residents to learn, contribute to the community and expand their skills in a supportive way. Each volunteer is connected with a field supervisor and has access to support from the Coordinator of Volunteer Services. In this role we provide assessment, placement or referral, orientation, supervision, evaluation and recognition.
